8 Minecraft Castle Designs or Ideas You Should Try

Wander around in your Minecraft world until you spot an appropriate point. Some users even create whole mountains themselves before constructing the main unit. If you think that is something that you can see yourself doing, we recommend going for it.

Nevertheless, let’s now talk about the basics of making the Fantasy Japanese Castle in Minecraft. You will need about 1400 Snow Blocks, 1263 Stripped Oak Logs along with tons of Stone, Stripped Dark Oak Logs, and plenty of other items for the decor and interior. The Japanese architecture style is by far the most famous in Minecraft, so why not go for a Fantasy Japanese Castle? Constructing the build will surely make you feel like a Samurai lord in Minecraft, and it will surely stand out in the lobby if you’re playing online. The Underground Castle design is probably one of the easiest ones to make off this list.

Massive Medieval Castle

All you need is a chunk of will and determination to gather basic resources like Cobblestone, Stone, and Dark Oak Log to get to work. Once you’ve got the material, however, you’re free to make the Blackstone Castle come to life. It’s using a four-leaved structure in the middle as one of its major highlights. It doesn’t follow a proper design or format in terms of its decoration and is rather a combination of multiple resources. Apart from comprising a singular skyrise structure, this is one of those Minecraft castle ideas that pack all the bells and whistles for character survival in the game. Talk about constructing villages, villager houses, and even crops and farms within a castle to accommodate all your requirements.

Island fortress

With craggy platforms that could only be held up by a powerful mage, this castle is perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Minecraft's Overworld. Get some inspiration for a Minecraft castle, like your dream medieval fortress or a stunning Japanese castle, and even build a working gate. If you’ve had your fair share of Castle builds in Minecraft then it’s quite possible that you’d be bored with Dark, Japanese, and Medieval Castle. In that case, you can go for something like the Prismarine Ocean Castle which was shared by OmniGod Gamer on YouTube. It’s unique and offers a change of scenario when it comes to Minecraft Castles. The structure may seem a lot smaller than the other Castles on the list but believe us, the Japanese Castle is large enough to hold a whole squad along with all the necessities.

Whether you're trying to build a spooky horror-themed world for your friends to explore or simply hope to recreate the iconic Dover Castle, we've got something for everyone. Check out the list below to jump to your favourite build, or have a scroll through and see which Minecraft castle idea gives you the most inspiration. Even if you don’t plan on building something this mammoth, we still recommend the interesting watch. Castles don’t come much more famous than the Disney castle, the iconic image that pops up at the start of every Disney movie and the backdrop to your most memorable holiday. If you want to build a replica of the Cinderella castle in Minecraft, then this tutorial by Bubbaflubba is the perfect copy, and somehow looks like it’s straight from an animation. These include basic Stone, Cobblestone, Diorite, Andesite, Cobbled Deepslate, Granite, and many more.

That said, you’ll be feeling prouder than ever when you’ve got this build in the bag. It looks quite stunning and genuinely a fortified stronghold that no Creeper or Illager can reach without you spawning them deliberately. It’s surely worth taking the time out with a couple of friends to attempt creating the Fortified Castle for a homestead just like no other. Players who take their builds seriously invest a fair amount of time in decoration. You can see how the front yard is embellished with a mixed pattern of different blocks, including Cobblestone and Dark Oak Log. It uses a combination of multiple easy-to-obtain resources and believes in simplicity above everything else.

Designed by Youtuber PaulGG, this castle isn’t the most tactical one, but it definitely stands out in the world of rigid structures. Thanks to Minecraft’s unique gravity, you can also create a castle in the air, apart from water and land. Youtuber Twin Saw’s tutorial covers such a castle in the best possible way. The design focuses on creating several floating islands with parts of the main castle on top. And then, if that wasn’t enough, the floating islands have sharp bottom parts. This iconic style makes the castle feel like it was ripped from the ground to float in the sky.

Medieval Castle and Town

This specific castle blueprint is based on Cinderella’s castle, which is probably the most iconic of the Disney castles. Minecraft players who want to attempt their own build should get ready for a wild Minecraft castle design that’s 60 blocks high and 44×41 blocks in size. This beautiful castle is a welcome break from digging out yet another medieval dungeon. Also, this is an excellent project if you’re short on time and just want to make something cool.

Japanese architecture aims to merge with the land, so you’ll find natural blocks in this building. The style also focuses more on mimicking the surrounding landscape instead of staying symmetrical, so there’s a lot of opportunity for unique buildings. You’ll learn how to build a quaint mushroom cottage with an arched entrance and bright red roofs. You can add flags to the turrets to represent your allegiance or aesthetic. Best of all, mushroom blocks are good for fuel, food, and building, so you’ll have everything you need in a single block.

If Minecraft castles have to reflect real life, then our list can’t be complete without castle ruins. It stands out well within a list of shiny new castles while offering a closer-to-life look. Moreover, thanks to a tutorial by BigTonyMC, it is also one of the easiest castle ideas to bring to life. This castle tutorial by Stevler is a great example of a Minecraft castle that looks intricate, but is easy to build. Castles can easily end up looking like a boring square stone box, but Stevler's Medieval Minecraft castle build has a lot of clever design choices.

The floors inside the castle could be a combination of stone and wood, using classic cobblestone for pathways and community spaces while using wooden floors for certain quarters. Polished stone, top-tier stone, or chiseled stone blocks can add amazing detail to floors as well – a great way to add valuable blocks throughout the design without too much expense. This castle creation is another design by the above creator, fashioned using a lighter color palette and darker wooden roofs. Its structure is more intricate and asymmetrical, accompanied by traditional and spacious watchtowers. A Minecraft castle can follow many different building styles, but usually they are more medieval. A medieval build will mostly be built of stone, wood or concrete, which are easy to find on survival Minecraft.

How Cruise Control Systems Work HowStuffWorks

how to use cruise control

Cruise control is an incredibly useful driving aid that allows you to maintain a steady speed without constantly pressing the accelerator. With its cruise control system and other advanced features, the Range Rover Evoque is a great choice for anyone in need of a car with cruise control. The intuitive system will detect changes in speed and terrain and adjust accordingly, providing a stress-free and comfortable ride. Then, adjust the speed you want your car to travel at by pressing the + or – buttons.

Come up to speed

Cruise control is best suited for long drives on large, straight roads such as an interstate highway with cars traveling at a relatively constant speed. It’s inappropriate in stop-and-go traffic; when weather conditions are snowy, icy, or even heavy rain; on narrow, curvy roads; or with frequent speed limit variations. The time and attention it takes to disengage the cruise control in these situations could lead to a crash. If you have adaptive cruise control, you may need to set your distance so the system knows how much gap to leave between you and the car ahead of you. Some manufacturers include three settings, while others can have up to five. If you have ACC, the car will automatically brake and accelerate to keep the correct distance while generally maintaining your set speed when possible.

How Does Cruise Control Work With Adaptive Cruise Control?

When engaging cruise control on the highway, ensure your lane is clear and there are no vehicles stopping ahead. After turning on cruise control, you’ll need to set your desired speed. Many systems set the cruise control at the current speed, while others require you to manually set one. You can increase and decrease this speed as needed without interrupting the mechanism. Cruise control offers several benefits to drivers, especially during long road trips or highway driving.

how to use cruise control

Is A Range Rover Evoque A Luxury Car?

Once familiar with your car’s cruise control system, you can try it out. Wait for a moment when it’s appropriate to use cruise control before turning it on. Check that the road is clear, that weather conditions are good, and that you’re on a highway or a road where you won’t have to stop or change speed often. If conditions are right to use cruise control in your car, turn on the system. If it’s your first time using your car’s cruise control system — or if you’re not 100% sure how to turn on cruise control in your car —the process starts before you crank the engine.

Can You Brake on Cruise Control?

Just press the gas pedal to bring your car up to the new speed, and hit the “SET” button again. Typically, you can operate the functions of the cruise control system on today’s new cars using buttons located on the steering wheel. They are usually placed for easy operation by one of the driver’s thumbs. For example, until recently, Mercedes-Benz put the operational controls for its cruise system on a separate stalk below the turn-signal stalk on the left-hand side of the steering column. As you can see, cruise control is a great way to relieve much of the stress that comes with everyday driving. The constant rate of speed can also drastically improve fuel efficiency for longer drivers.

Remember, these systems are here to make your drive smoother and safer, but they're not a replacement for your attention. It's like having an extra set of eyes on the road, making highway driving a breeze. Plus, some ACC systems can even handle stop-and-go traffic, bringing your car to a full stop and then picking up speed again when traffic gets moving. Constantly accelerating and braking will use significantly more fuel than maintaining a set speed. The primary function of cruise control is to make driving more comfortable, but by smoothing out acceleration and deceleration you can save fuel too. Cruise control is an electronic system that enables you to fix a vehicle’s accelerator on a specific speed, so you can take your foot off the pedal.

Take the Next Step.

Get the car’s manual and learn what each cruise control button does. Different makes and models may have different combinations of buttons or features. Modern cruise control is electronic and uses a computer to control your car’s speed.

Usually, the factory offers three or four choices from which you can pick. A graphic on the driver information screen displays a representation of the changing minimum distances as you use the button to scroll through them. While fully autonomous vehicles are still in the developmental stages, the integration of cruise control technology is a big step toward creating safer and more efficient transportation systems.

It's perfect for those long drives on open highways, but it doesn’t automatically react to other cars on the road. Today, drivers can choose from a range of cruise control systems, each with its own unique features and functionalities. This modern feature uses sensors and radar to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, adjusting speed automatically.

We recommend consulting your car’s owner’s manual to decode the cruise control buttons and their operation for your specific vehicle. Here’s a list of the driver-operated functions provided by the cruise control buttons and toggles. Some controls perform multiple functions, depending on how they are used. For example, the Set and Accelerate functions are often incorporated into the same button or toggle. As autonomous vehicles become more sophisticated, cruise control technology is evolving to support higher levels of automation. For example, some autonomous vehicles are equipped with advanced cruise control systems that can navigate complex traffic scenarios, merge onto highways, and even change lanes autonomously.

For system malfunctions, professional diagnostics are essential, as these systems involve advanced electronics and software. It’s not advisable to use cruise control in hazardous weather or heavy traffic. If the car in front suddenly speeds off, however, your car won’t routinely follow it. Instead, the ACC system will hold the pre-set speed until you change it, or it catches up with another vehicle. In short, the Range Rover Evoque offers an impressive range of drive modes that can be tailored to suit any driving style and conditions, making it a truly unique and capable vehicle. To turn on DCC, locate the Cruise Control switch, usually marked with a speedometer symbol, on the left side of the steering wheel or dashboard.

Occasionally, you may encounter issues with your cruise control systems. Common problems include cruise control not engaging or disengaging unexpectedly. Possible causes may include a faulty brake light switch, malfunctioning sensors, or issues with the control module. If you experience any problems with your cruise control, it's best to have a qualified technician diagnose and repair the issue for you.

Always exercise caution while driving, and never rely entirely on cruise control. To do this, press the distance button and select the distance you want to keep from the vehicle in front of you. On slick roads, which include those affected by snow, ice, torrential rain, and hailstorms, as the likelihood of sliding is increased. Kelley Blue Book® Values and pricing are based in part on transactions in your area. Your ZIP code also helps us find local deals and highlight other available offers.

The Range Rover Evoque comes standard with a cruise control system, allowing you to set and maintain a specific speed without having to use the gas pedal. If no vehicle is detected in your path, the feature works like regular cruise control. Most models either have additional buttons or let the driver briefly press the accelerator pedal while in cruise control. To decelerate, either tap the appropriate button on the cruise control system or quickly apply the brake. When there is a lot of traffic, when driving winding roads, when going downhill, and when approaching a bridge.

When you’re using your car’s cruise control feature, don’t forget your defensive driving skills. When used correctly, cruise control can contribute to safer driving. By maintaining a steady speed, it reduces the likelihood of erratic driving behavior and potential accidents.

The cruise control system controls the speed of your car the same way you do -- by adjusting the throttle position. But cruise control actuates the throttle valve by a cable connected to an actuator, instead of by pressing a pedal. The throttle valve controls the power and speed of the engine by limiting how much air the engine takes in (see How Fuel Injection Systems Work for more details). For example, some cars have a combined button to set the initial speed and accelerate. Others have fine-tuning buttons that you can click to increase or decrease your speed by a set amount, often one mph. Heavy, or stop-and-go traffic is not ideal for safely using cruise control.

The 8 classes of Carnival Cruise Line ships, explained

Still, you can expect to find many of the same fun-focused features on Spirit-class ships that you'll find on the line's bigger vessels, including water parks with waterslides and miniature golf courses. They're also relatively intimate ships, holding just 2,124 passengers at double occupancy. By modern-day cruise ship standards, that makes them "mid-size" vessels. Still, they offer a lot of options when it comes to eateries, bars, lounges and deck-top attractions — more than you'll find on most other Carnival vessels.

Family Harbor Ocean View

carnival cruise lines ships

With an oceanview cabin, you get a window looking out to the sea but not an attached balcony where you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. Note that, in a quirk of the cabin categorization system at Carnival, there are a few inside cabins on some Carnival ships that do, indeed, have a view to the outside world. These cabins either have an obstructed view (often due to lifeboats) or a porthole, such that the view isn't all that great. Design-wise, Carnival's cabins and suites are fairly basic and comfortable, if not super stylish.

Carnival Mardi Gras

Check the decks on Mardi Gras® and plan all the fun you're going to have on board. Playlist Productions™ takes songs you know and presents them like you’ve never known them before. Past favorites become full-blown musical productions featuring multi-talented performers absolutely bringing down the house with song, dance... With tunes from fan-favorite divas, crooners or rockers, each show has a different theme — and of course, a completely different playlist!

Carnival Venezia

Carnival Horizon is the second Vista-class ship in the fleet and became the second Carnival ship to restart operations in 2021 following the industry-wide pause due to the pandemic. The ship follows in the footsteps of sister ship Carnival Vista but with the addition of a Seuss at Sea waterpark. Carnival Celebration is the second Excel-class vessel and sister ship to Mardi Gras. The ship is also LNG-powered and entered service in November 2022.

The vessel was previously known as Carnival Triumph, which originally entered service in 1999. Whether you're searching for an inexpensive vacation, a family-friendly vessel or a ship that will take you on a longer voyage to Europe, there's a Carnival cruise to fit your taste and budget. In 1996, the new Destiny class was introduced, with the Carnival Destiny.

Additionally, it features BOLT, the Ultimate Speed Coaster, which is the first-ever roller coaster on a ship. Discover the latest and greatest Carnival ships that are currently out at sea. After Carnival Jubilee, the line has no ships on order for the first time in years.

The world you'll find yourself in is one of complete peace, sea breezes and, of course, a nearby bar. It's the place to get done the kind of stuff you just can't seem to do anywhere else — reconnect with your partner, finish that book, or do absolutely, blissfully, nothing at all. They’re not concerts, they’re not exactly plays… these shows are something else entirely. Every performance is built on amazing songs you know and love, presented like you’ve never seen before. Carnival Jubilee™ plays host to a lineup of shows like Soulbound and its spooky, atmospheric R&B and Visual Symphony, with innovative LED walls and special effects three decks high. Let’s see what else… debuting right here there’s Dear Future Husband, an interactive pop-wedding adventure.

She cost $375 million to construct at the then-named Kvaerner-Masa yards in Helsinki, Finland. Carnival Legend is 88,500 gross tons and has a guest capacity of 2,124, along with 930 crew members. There are 12 passenger decks and she cost the cruise line $375 million. Carnival Dream has a gross tonnage of 130,000 and a guest capacity of 3,646 at double occupancy, slightly less than her sister ships. The ship was also the second in the fleet to receive the new Carnival-colored inspired livery during a dry dock in 2021.

Plus there’s Seaquest, a show that virtually transforms the zone into a submarine on an adventure we’ll enjoy together. And with everything to see, don’t forget about the fantastical flavors, with Emeril’s Bistro 717™, Dr.Inks, Ph.D.™ and The Golden Mermaid™. Carnival Luminosa (formerly the Costa Luminosa) is for you if you want to sail to destinations like Alaska and Australia.

Around the ship, you’ll find spaces like Phantom Lounge and Dr. Frankenstein’s Lab, where you can see shows or dance the night away. When you’re ready to soak up the sun, find a lounge chair at the adults-only pool deck or splash down on one of the slides at WaterWorks. Carnival Valor is almost 20 years old and still showing cruisers a good time.

As one of the largest cruise brands in the world, Carnival Cruise Line has more than two dozen vessels in its fleet, offering everything from megaship adventures to smaller-ship experiences. Many variables — price, embarkation dates, travel companions, ship size and amenities, and destination — can shape the way you make your choice. We designed Carnival Magic balcony staterooms for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, and this stateroom features a balcony that's even wider than our standard balcony. Enjoy the extra outdoor space, along with all the standard Carnival stateroom amenities.

However, Carnival's biggest ships also sail with more passengers, which can be a turnoff if you're the kind of traveler who likes a more intimate experience. At Carnival, as at other lines, the biggest ships in the fleet have the most amenities, eateries, lounges, bars and deck-top attractions than the smaller ships. This can be a huge plus for travelers who like to have a lot of options when vacationing. The newer ships in the Carnival fleet include the upcoming Carnival Firenze and other ships offering state-of-the-art amenities and experiences for passengers. Carnival Paradise is second ship the Fantasy Class and sister to Carnival Elation. She is 70,367 GRTs and carries 2,052 passengers (based on two per cabin).

When I select a sailing, I book through Carnival Cruise Line’s reservation number to see if I can snag an exclusive deal not listed online. Carnival's free-to-join loyalty program, the Very Important Fun Person (VIFP) Club, offers deals like reduced deposits, onboard credit, and room upgrades. The more you book with the cruise line, the better your deals will be. About 44% of the 2,004 cabins on Carnival's Carnival Panorama (launched in 2019) are balcony cabins, for instance.

Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, notably, has its very own in-house brewery you can see behind glass walls — something still relatively rare on cruise ships. It makes house beers including Parched Pig West Coast IPA and Parched Pig Toasted Amber which you'll find on many Carnival vessels in kegs and cans. Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you're looking to cruise aboard Carnival Magic. Any time you're in your room, you're just steps away from your own personal outdoor oasis, featuring the sort of sea view you can also feel. Vacationers looking for a big resort experience with a lot of options should choose one of Carnival's newest ships, which are bigger and have more amenities. If you're looking for more intimacy on a cruise ship, some of the older classes of ships, such as those in the Spirit class, might be just right.

It was a very entertaining and informative class from start to finish. Knowing the different ingredients and cooking techniques that made the menu items complete was delightful. The vessel was originally designed for sister cruise line Costa Cruises but was transferred to Carnival Cruise Line during construction. The cruise ship is 113,300 gross tons and carries 3,012 passengers. She wasn’t built for the cruise line but was the first ship for the newly formed Ted Arison Carnival Cruise Line at the time. The ship started sailing for Carnival in 1972, and the “Fun Ships” have kept coming ever since! Mardi Gras was over 27,200 gross tons, a huge difference from the new Excel-class vessels.

Bonsai Sushi

The vessel is 183,521 gross tons with a guest capacity of 5,372 at double occupancy, along with 1,735 crew members. Carnival Celebration is based in Miami, Florida, and also takes the name of a previous Carnival cruise ship, Celebration, that was part of the holiday class. In Costa Maya, we chose to stay aboard the ship and enjoy everything it had to offer. Leading up to this port day, we hadn’t booked any excursions, so it was nice to have the ship tour ourselves while many of the ship’s guests were off the ship enjoying this port.

On that menu, you'll find more smoke bubbles, as well as whimsical ingredients like Pop Rocks. Carnival has come a long way since the days when its staterooms were colored like cotton candy. Instead, its newest vessels are done up in neutrals with calming accents of blue and green, depending on the cabin category. But the ship also offers some of the first real suites in the fleet, featuring separate living room and bedroom areas, bathrooms with separate tubs and showers, and walk-in closets.

You’ll also find a swingin’ jazz trio keeping things nice and hot … and it takes only one look at the décor to feel as if you just stepped into an elegant Southern estate. So come on down and let a white-coated bartender know what your pleasure is. Among the menu of Crescent City mainstays, we suggeststarting off with a true connoisseur’s local favorite … the Brandy Crusta. Since your huge Suite on Carnival Celebration® affords you VIP status, you're in the priority line when getting on and off the ship… plus Suites come with exclusive perks! The Carnival Glory is the second ship built in the hugely popular Conquest-class. She was constructed by Fincantieri in Italy and cost $500 million. The Carnival ship became the first in the new Sunshine class after completing a major bow-to-stern transformation in November 2013. The vessel has become completely new after previously being named Carnival Destiny, which originally entered service in 1996.

The vessel took over from sister ship Carnival Celebration, which joined the fleet at the end of 2022. Carnival Firenze is also a recent addition to the fleet, but not completely new, as she was transferred from Costa Cruises in 2024. Find out which fun ingredients — staterooms, dining, activities — go into each deck.

All this glitz pairs perfectly with live music, making this the perfect place to relax with an elegant drink before or after dinner. In the world of Carnival Jubilee™ zones are where fun, flavor and relaxation live… and there are six just waiting for you to explore. Carnival Celebration, positioned in Port Miami, Florida, accommodates 5,374 passengers and 1,735 crew, with a tonnage of 183,521, and was launched in 2022. Carnival Cruise Line currently operates three Excel vessels, including Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and, most recently, Carnival Jubilee.

One of my favorite things about Carnival is that the line's ships offer a diversity of casual, included dining venues. New with the Excel class is Shaquille O'Neal's Big Chicken venue serving variations on the fried-chicken-and-biscuit theme from breakfast through the late afternoon. Carnival's pizza is some of the best in the biz, and the customizable tacos and burritos at BlueIguana offer something for everyone. The new travel-inspired neighborhood The Gateway on decks 6 and 7 midship is most noticeable for its LED "windows" that display scenes from countries around the world, depending on the evening's theme. The new train station-inspired Latitudes Bar and returning Emeril's Bistro 1397 anchor this area, with the popular pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bar above.

"Our Excel-class ships have been a tremendous addition to the Carnival fleet and proven very popular with our guests," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. When cruise ships are in Texas waters, the onboard bars are only allowed to serve alcohol that was obtained in Texas. That means the types of alcohol available could be limited when Carnival Jubilee (or any other ship) is in port. If you're loyal to a particular brand of vodka, for example, you might have to switch things up and try some Tito's if you're hankering for a tipple before you set sail. Balcony staterooms are proof that while it’s great to be cruisey… on vacation, breeziness is a virtue too.

Most evenings, you could watch live music shows in six other venues throughout the ship. On board, we attended several comedy shows in the Punchliner Comedy Club and the Limelight Lounge. They were also very approachable, shaking hands and taking pictures with guests as we exited the show. I thought this was wonderful and shows how touched guests were by seeing such talented entertainers live. Our cruise visited three ports in the Western Caribbean, Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Mahogany Bay. We were able to visit Guy’s Pig & Anchor and walk right up and be seated.
